CN: Violence
Grainy black-and-white footage shows tanks rolling through villages: an Israeli propaganda film restaging the 1967 Six-Day War at the expense of fleeing Palestinian villagers, not revealing that it's all staged. Netalie Braun traces this entanglement of film and weapons in Israel across three chapters, from a staged police raid endangering a Palestinian family to a former soldier selling replica guns to film sets. Together they form a layered, clearly positioned portrait of how cinema can be wielded as a weapon between storytelling, propaganda, and state power.
