Meredith Monk work transcends all boundaries. In addition to compositions, productions, choreographies, and films, it is above all her vocal artistry and vocal performance art that make her unmistakable to this day. Developed in New York in the mid-1960s, she has expanded this into an internationally renowned multimedia theater with mainly female ensembles, captivating audiences with an emotional sound language that transcends all boundaries. The 82-year-old currently holds the Pina Bausch Visiting Professorship at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. Billy Shebar's film is a congenial portrait of an exceptional artist.
