Volkan Üce follows Tayfun Arslan’o, a Genk-based Belgian-Turkish undertaker serving the Muslim community across countries. Navigating the delicate balance between faith and commerce, Arslan’o reveals a world where death is a capitalist trade and bodies travel as cargo priced by weight. Üce meets these heavy, complex matters with a humor that lightens the load without dodging the central question: where does a migrant want to rest for good, and at what cost? Perhaps death itself is not absurd, but the absurdity lies in how modern life handles it.
