How do we cope with family tragedies? How do we remember collectively? Does grief affect our memory? In her poetic cinematic essay, Tessa Langhans weaves essential personal questions together with scientific research approaches and beguilingly beautiful images. To do so, she draws upon old family videos, emotional conversations and insightful interviews and embarks on a journey across Germany. GARDEN MEMORIES is a cross-generational search for ways of dealing with grief and an homage to life.
