Moving
images can transport us into a state of rapture and send our minds on a
journey. Sometimes they can even put us into states of ecstasy. In a joint
project with the Festival of Animation Berlin, students from the Animation
Class at the Kunsthochschule Kassel explored how such wonderful states of the
spirit can be created through cinematic means and transferred their findings to
the dome in the form of their own cinematic interpretations. The result is a
360° film program, which approaches the theme of ecstasy from a wide variety of
angles. From the tickling sensation in the stomach when dreaming of falling
into the depths, to the illuminating enlightenment after long brooding, the joy
of nonsense, a pleasant thrill, to the great mental fireworks triggered by
physical connection. This is an invitation to enjoy a little while of
enchantment in the immersive envelopment of the dome.
OF SORROW AND SILENCE is a 3D poetry animation about the Moon, who cannot find rest despite being far away. Haunted by traumatic memories of the Beast, he lies awake – pursued by an echo of the past that refuses to fade. Image, word and sound interweave into a journey through memory, fear and the fragile search for inner peace.

What do you see, when you close your eyes?
I don't... think im seeing anything?
But can you conjure something? In front of your mind's eye?
...I feel like I only believe I'm seeing something, because you expect me to.
SOLITAIRE AT THE COLLISION is a short film about the stirred consciousness, materializing at the border, where the mental and the sensory meet. Inspired by the immersive canvas of a 360° dome and influenced by the autistic experience of the mundane, the artist contains us within the currents of the super-conscious.

An endless train circles, while the landscapes around it are in constant flux: from vibrant urbanity to rural idylls to surreal fragments. The further the journey progresses, the more reality disintegrates – familiar structures dissolve, details tip into the dreamlike. An ominous presence imperceptibly accompanies the journey, hidden at the edge of vision, a silent witness to the transition into the unreal.

Just switch off your brain and let yourself get carried away.
Let your brain cells rot in the nonsense.
Dive into a new World. A new landscape.
But don’t let it freak you out — it’s supposed to help you turn off your mind.
For a moment, don’t try to make sense of anything, don’t think, don’t know.
Maybe feel a bit confused — or not.
Things are just happening.
Just a bit of senseless rotting... we're doing it anyway.

SOMEWHERE NOWHERE is a 3D animated dream journey that begins on the dark roof of a high-rise building. In the distance, a mysterious light flickers, appearing again and again in different places – like a fleeting call from the depths of the city. A flight begins – driven by the longing to reach the light that keeps eluding us.

Narthesis is not a place but a passage that opens when no one is watching. A nameless rite, hidden at the core, where the world falls silent and the gaze turns inward. No prayer begins there, only silence—at the edge of one’s own abyss. One does not see who one wishes to be, but who one is when everything else falls away. Narthesis is not an answer but an echo sinking into the heart like a stone into deep water.
