Yugo ide u Ameriku (Yugo Goes to America)

A modest film about cultural understanding and the presence of the past in the present: Aleksa Borković and Filip Grujić, along with their film crew, set out on a road trip from New York to Los Angeles in a Yugo to explore how US-Americans remember Yugoslavia and how the Balkans are viewed internationally today. It soon becomes clear: Anyone driving a Yugo today has street credibility for sure! Along the route, the directing duo takes a tongue-in-cheek look at the Yugo’s history, and in the process, the team members also rediscover their own friendships and life stories, kilometer by kilometer.
