Instinto (Instinct)

“Who wants to have a baby but isn’t supposed to? And who doesn’t want to have babies but is supposed to?” asks the promotional text for “Instinct”. The play by inclusive Theater Thikwa explores the history of reproductive rights for women with disabilities in Germany. We accompany the theater group through rehearsals, on visits to exhibitions and the performance of the finished play, experiencing the very normal ups and downs of a theater production. In addition to the powerful content itself, the warm interactions within the group and their mutual support renew our belief in the political potential of theater.
