In Japanese, there is a specific term for suddenly disappearing from life: "Johatsu" (to evaporate). Every year, thousands of people leave their old lives behind and try to build new ones in anonymity. To ensure a discreet and professional disappearance, they rely on "Night Mover" Saita, who runs one of Japan's night escape companies. She arranges new papers, organizes the move, and finds new accommodation. We follow various protagonists during and after their escape, or as they search for their missing loved ones. (Sita Scherer)
