"A Sunday child", born during the war, raised in East Berlin with her inaccessible mother. Observed by the Stasi as a critical writer and psychotherapist. Since 2003 without publication until at the age of 80 she wins the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize in 2020 for her text "Vom Aufstehen". The film portrait is based on this book, a "life of the century in episodes". It shows a fascinatingly open, wide-awake woman who still deals literary with the German dictatorships and takes care of for her beloved husband in village seclusion. (Livia Theuer)
